Rosedale Friends and Dog Owners,
A few notes as we head into spring, especially for our dog owners.
First, Welcome!
We have a mix of new members and longtime supporters. Now more than ever, Rosedale is the heart of Cleveland Park. Hopefully even with social distancing we can meet, enjoy spring, and keep our whole community happy and healthy.

On Leash/Off Leash Hours
We’ve seen a big uptick in families and children gathering for fun at
Rosedale this week which is wonderful! Dog owners, please make sure you
abide by the on-leash/off-leash hours. Dogs are only allowed off-leash
between 7am – 2pm on weekday, 8am – 11am on weekends, and 4:30pm –
6:30pm in the afternoons. Please be mindful and respectful of children
in the park and monitor your dog continuously.
Please move to the under-used, green areas of lawn
Let’s give the western part of the lawn a chance to recover. Please
congregate and practice your social distancing on the middle and eastern
lawns, where the grass is still green.
Rain closures and spring treatments
Check the website often for announcements. Rain closures will always be posted on the website. In addition, there will be several treatments of fertilizers and oils to the grounds in the next few weeks. Usually we are only notified the day before, and they will be posted on the website as well.
Poo bags
There are no public services for trash removal at Rosedale. You must
take your bags with you and dispose of them in your own trash cans. A
member was recently seen purposely throwing their poo bag into the
boxwoods before leaving. This is outrageous behavior and insulting to
our volunteers and Board who have worked for the past 18 years to
protect the grounds and provide open access to this treasured public
green space. If you’re not willing to abide by the rules and pack out
your trash, please, don’t come. Rosedale is the not the right place for
you. This behavior will result in immediate and permanent expulsion
from membership.
With thanks,
Jill Hall,
President
