Dear Friend of Rosedale,
Today I’m writing to remind you that it is time to renew your annual Rosedale membership for another year, so that it will not lapse at the end of December.
I hope you will do so, because, as a neighborhood-funded park, Rosedale’s only source of financial assistance is you.
As has been the case over many years, the cost of running the park is steady, but significant. The baseline budget has risen to nearly $50,000 per year. This includes unexpected one-time expenses; as this year comes to an end, workers are replacing the Newark Street fence, at a cost of more than $16,000. Below is a pie chart showing how the Rosedale budget is expected to be used in 2016.

For anyone who has taken a walk at Rosedale lately, you can see that all our hard work pays off. The lawns, trees, and boxwoods are in beautiful shape. Our many varieties of trees, many planted in the past eight years, are carefully tended, and our heavily used upper terrace is verdant again, thanks to a six month restoration effort last year.
But we can’t do all of this without you. That means that, as a neighborhood, we can never slack off on our support for Rosedale. Everyone who values having this historic, lovely village green — guaranteed safe from developers — needs to keep on giving, every year.
So please take a few minutes now to renew your $100 annual membership in the Conservancy for 2016. If you have a dog who loves to frolic at Rosedale, also submit $50 per dog, and we will send you a shiny new 2016 tag. And please strongly consider giving a further gift above that. Rosedale depends heavily on gifts over and above that $100 membership level.
Keep Rosedale thriving and beautiful; please renew your support now.
