June 4, 2006 was the date of the 2nd annual community BBQ and picnic. The event was graced with wonderful weather, and a large crowd enjoyed the music of the Dixie Cannonballs Bluegrass Band.
In September, 2003, the Conservancy was awarded the first-ever Mayor's Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation, in the category of Community Involvement, for our neighborhood's work in preserving Rosedale's historic lawns. The Mayor's award capped a year of great progress in restoring the health of the lawns and setting in place the necessary organizational pieces to own and manage the property.
2003 was the second year the Conservancy hosted a pumpkin carving party on the lawns. What a sight - 40 parents on the ground frantically carving elaborate designs that their kids had chosen, while the kids enjoyed playing hide-n-go-seek and softball.
December snows and sunny skies provided a terrific day for sledding!
One of many Rosedale enthusiasts.
